Getting the best from our Award Winning Wine List 

Together with Riedel and Le Verre de Vin preservation system we offer exceptional and rare wines by the glass. We were the first to offer Penfolds Grange and Vintage Krug by the glass, and will continue to offer further exceptional and rare wines  for your enjoyment.

This list is rated by Paul Henry of the Australian Wine Corporation as the finest listing of Australian wines outside Oz. Many of these wines have aged gracefully in our cellars for the last 10 years and now offer prime drinking. It is fine buying a bottle of Australian wine off the shelf in Waitrose but remember many of the finer wines need many years of cellaring to fully appreciate their quality.

Trends

We have promoted Australian wines for many years, and our cellars are full of premium aged iconic wines from this New World Wine gem, however in recent years we have started to broaden our selection from New Zealand, although we may not be able to offer too many aged wines from this prime Pinot Noir country we can offer the very best.

Last year we sought out premium Sauvignon Blanc for you, not the grassy gooseberry fresh Sauvignon Blanc’s of old but the more refined Pouilly Fume style that is well suited to our food. This year we will be highlighting some delicious aromatic varietals like Pinot Gris and Viognier from this green land. 

Riesling has been a passion for us for years, and you will note that we have the finest selection of Australian Rieslings outside Australia.

We continue to offer the finest range and value of Champagne in the UK. Please have a look at our Vintage selection, perfect with food or just to start the evening off.

Riedel Glassware

Numerous consumer and trade tests have been carried out to prove that Riedel makes a huge difference in the enjoyment of wine. We offer up to 18 different glass styles here at The Harrow each to compliment various grape varieties. Riedel have been sponsors of The Harrow for the last 4 years.

Le Verre de Vin Preservation System

With still wine the machine pumps out the air and with champagne it replaces the vacuum with CO2. Simple but it works giving the wines a 3 week life line. We however go through the wines rather quicker than this!

Educational

Roger’s broad resume includes lecturing for various companies including The Hakkasan Group ( Hakkasan Limited is the fast-growing and award-winning restaurant group founded by Hong Kong-born restaurateur Alan Yau) Vodafone and numerous schools and colleges.

Roger judges Wine Competitions for various Trade Magazines including The Sommeliers Awards, and has written for journals such as Decanter Magazine. Wiltshire Life, Imbibe, Wine & Spirit and Jancis Robinson’s Purple Pages.
